If you're the proud owner of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, you've probably noticed that they pack a punch with tons of cool features. In fact, they may be one of the best Samsung gadgets out there.
Today, we’re going to walk through some of the newest and most exciting features, starting with one that’s fresh for this year: customising the LED lights.
Customising LED Lights on the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro
A new standout feature on the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro is the ability to customise the LED lights. To start customising, head into the Samsung Wearable app, navigate to Earbud Controls, and scroll down to find Earbud Light Controls.
But before you go any further, there’s a small trick you need to know. You’ll have to remove the buds from the case, but here’s the catch—don’t put them in your ears just yet! After they’re out, pinch and hold the stems to turn the LEDs on or off.
Once the LEDs are on, you can switch up the light patterns. You can choose from blinking, fade in and out, or steady light effects. Just be aware that once activated, these lights will glow while the buds are in your ears. Perfect for nighttime walks—unless you think it's a bit of a battery waste since you won’t actually see them. But hey, at least you can control when they’re on or off based on your preference. Just remember, every time you place the buds back in the case, this setting resets. So, you’ll need to re-enable it each time.
Voice Controls: Hands-Free Fun
Next up is one of the most entertaining features—voice controls. To enable this, head into the Galaxy Wearable app, tap on Earbuds Settings, and select Voice Controls. Once enabled, you’ll be able to control your audio with simple commands like “Play Music” or “Volume Down” without having to say a trigger word first.
This can be particularly handy when you’re working out and need to adjust something quickly without breaking your flow.
Replacement Earbud Tips: Proceed with Caution
Now, let's talk about earbud tips. Ensuring you have the right fit is crucial for comfort and sound quality, and there’s a fit test in the Galaxy Wearable app to help with that. But beware—there have been reports of users tearing their earbud tips while trying to remove them. So, be gentle!
If you’re looking for an alternative, keep an eye out for replacement foam ear tips from a brand called Comply. They haven’t launched for the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro yet, but once they do, they’ll be a great alternative to the standard silicone tips, offering a snugger fit. Until then, exercise caution when handling the default tips.
360 Audio Recording for Immersive Sound
A cool feature for content creators is 360 Audio Recording. Pair your Galaxy Buds 3 Pro with your phone and head into your camera app. Under Advanced Video Options, enable 360 audio recording.
With this enabled, you’ll capture immersive 360-degree audio while recording videos—perfect for creating rich, dynamic soundscapes. Just tap the 360 audio icon in your camera app and you’re good to go.
Quick Pairing on Windows
Pairing your Galaxy Buds with a Windows machine is a breeze. Simply hold the button on the bottom of the case while it’s open, and the LEDs will flash different colours. Bring them close to your Windows device, and you’ll see a prompt to connect—no need to dive into Bluetooth settings!
Read Notifications Aloud
Another useful feature, especially for gym-goers or multitaskers, is the ability to have notifications read aloud. In the Galaxy Wearable app, you can specify which apps send read-aloud notifications. You can choose to have a summary or the full message read out—great for staying in the loop without constantly checking your phone.
Finding Your Lost Earbuds
Losing an earbud can be frustrating, but the Find My Earbuds feature is a lifesaver. Through the app, you can track the rough location of each earbud on a map. If you’re nearby, use the Search Nearby function to locate them using Bluetooth in a hot-and-cold fashion. Unfortunately, this won’t work for finding the case—so keep that safe!
Auto Switch Audio Sources
The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro can also auto-switch between audio sources when using multiple Samsung devices. As long as both devices are signed into the same Samsung account, your buds will seamlessly switch audio between them. It’s perfect for transitioning between music on your tablet and a call on your phone without manual Bluetooth toggling.
Neck Stretch Reminders
A unique feature that’s bound to help posture-conscious users is Neck Stretch Reminders. This setting will alert you after you’ve been hunched over for more than 10 minutes. Just recalibrate your earbuds in the app so they know when you’re looking down. It’s great for long work sessions, but maybe a little annoying if you’re deep into something.
Labs: Low Latency Gaming Mode
Gamers and media consumers will appreciate the Low Latency Gaming Mode. Enable it in the Labs section of the app to reduce the delay between what’s happening on your screen and the sound in your ears. Whether you’re gaming, editing videos, or watching YouTube, this feature ensures that what you hear is closely synced with the action.
Run Diagnostics Before Seeking Support
If you suspect something’s off with your Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, you can run diagnostics through the Samsung Members app. This can save you time and hassle by identifying common issues before you contact support.
